De Tijd zal het Leeren was built in 1914 in Groningen as an iron ""bolship"" for regional freight sailing. The ship was sailed, poled or drawn with a rope by the crew. Because of the upcomming scaling-up in the inland shipping the ship was reorganised after the second world war. De Tijd zal het Leeren became a house boat. In 2000 she has been taken back in sailing as a passenger ship. The ship has a diesel-electric propulsion and is as a result, quietly and environment-friendly. The greatest care has been taken to preserve the authentic, warm character. The ship has been adapted to modern standards of comfort and safety. And of course, our personnel possess the necessary certifications and experience. The ship meets the requirements of the Shipping Inspectorate.
